Do you speak a language other than French or English?  Do you love reading & writing?  Are you 8 to 13 years old? 

Then send us your story written in a language other than English or French for a chance to win the Rainbow Caterpillar Junior Writing Competition

This competition aims to encourage children to appreciate the value of their mother languages and their heritage, as well as those of others.

Some rules to keep in mind

  • We welcome stories from children between the ages of 8 and 13 who are Canadian residents. 
  • Stories should be no longer than 750 words and written in a language other than English or French
  • Children are welcome to get help from an adult, but ultimately the work must be their own.
  • Do you like drawing? Illustrations are welcome.
  • All stories will be judged by teachers, librarians and writers.
  • The submission form must be filled out and attached with the story.
  • Stories must be typed or clearly hand-written, with each page numbered and the language and story title in English must be on every page.
  • Stories will not be returned, so be sure to keep a copy for yourself!

Announcement of Results
